Guys I wasn't joking. Compressor is a compressor. No way no one thought about it. If we can find a compressor same size, same specs more or less - we make it quiter and maybe even imrpove the A/C. Can't be I'm the only one who hates this noise so much

To me, I did a few hours of investigation and I found that different gasses react differently to materials and metals used in a cooling circuit. This is important because the compressor says it’s using one type of gas and the car stickers says that it’s using a different one. Compressors are build with seals, silicone, mechanicals and flexible parts designed with the gas in mind. Some gasses are heaver or can react with the circuit. So a mismatch would be …. Catastrophic.
