4.    Usage and Maintenance

4.1 Checks and Maintenance Schedule Periodically

Each item can be showed by overhead crane distance and time (number of months). Whatever reaches first (distance or time) can be used as the check reference.

Check and Maintenance Schedule of each Part of the Engine Periodically

The distance and time (based on the month) are given on the item. Check can be based on whatever reaches first.

О: Check Liquid Level, Screw or Modulate; @ Change or lubricate; Blank: not Applicable

Note: Rigorous using condition includes all the followings.

* Driven in a area with many dusts or the car is often exposed to the salty air or the brine water

* Driven on a rough and uneven road with hydrops or on a mountain road. Driven in a cold area

* In the cold season, the engine driven as at a idle speed for a long time or often driven in a short distance.

* Frequently use the arrester and emergency brake.

* Traction engine.

* Used as a taxi or rent the car of own accord.

* Under the high temperature above 32°C in the crowded urban area, the time of driving the car slowly exceeds 50% of the overall driving time.

* Under the high temperature above 30°C and at a 120 km/h speed, the time of driving the car at a high rate exceeds 50% of the overall driving time.

* Driven overloaded.

The state of the driving belt of the alternating current generator

Rotate the driving belt of the alternating current generator and meanwhile check whether it has crack, flying chip or abrasion.

(1)      Loosen nuts of the bearing bolts of the alternating current generator.

(2)      Loosen locknuts of the belt stretcher.

(3)      Rotate and adjust bolts and modulate the tightness of the belt.

(4)     Screw up locknuts.

(5)      Screw up nuts of the bearing bolts of the alternating current generator.

(6)     Check the deflection of the driving belt and modulate it if needed.

Use the deflection indicator or tension gauge to modulate the tension of the driving belt to a standard value.

Standard Value

New Belt........5.5-7.5 mm

Used Belt........7.5-8.5 mm

Standard Value

New Belt........50-70 kg

Used Belt........35-45 kg

(1)      Check whether the ignition cable and rubber cap are damaged or whether they become fragile and check the installation state.

(2)      Check whether the ignition cable and spark plug as well as the connecting place of the ignition coil are dirty or have the accumulated dusts.

(3)      It they are dirty, clean them.; if they have been damaged, change them.

(1)   Check whether the gas blowby tube has crack or whether it is damaged.

(2)   Clean the interior of the gas blowby tube if needed.

Check the Crank of Positive Ventilation System

(1)   Demolish the air hose from the positive ventilation crankcase valve (PVC valve).

(2)   Demolish crankcase ventilation valve from the rocker arm cover.

(3)   Connect the crankcase ventilation valve with the demolished air hose again.

(4)   Start the engine and run it at a idle speed.

(5)   Press the fingers on the opening to the crankcase ventilation valve to make sure the intake manifold is vacuum.

(6)   P.S.: at this time, the forcer of the crankcase ventilation valve will move back and forth

(7)   If the vacuum is not felt, clean or change the crankcase ventilation valve.

Check of the Positive ventilation crankcase valve (PVC Valve)

(1)   Insert the thin stick from the position showed by the left figure (from the installation side of the rocker arm) into the PVC Valve and move the thin stick back and forth to check the movement condition of the forcer.

(2)   if the forcer does not move, it means the ventilation crankcase valve is blocked, so then PVC Valve must be cleaned or changed.
